Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated video games in years, but PC gamers have one particularly important question: is GTA 6 coming to PC?
The short answer is that Rockstar Games has not currently announced a PC version of GTA 6.
GTA 6 is officially scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S confirmed as the launch platforms. PC is currently absent from Rockstar’s official platform list.
That doesn’t necessarily mean PC players will never get to explore Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
Rockstar has previously released some of its biggest games on PC after their console debuts, including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. However, until Rockstar makes an official announcement, any supposed GTA 6 PC release date should be treated as speculation.
Here’s everything we currently know about GTA 6 on PC.
What Platforms Is GTA 6 Confirmed For?
Rockstar currently confirms GTA 6 for:
PlayStation 5
Xbox Series X|S
The game is scheduled to launch on both platforms on November 19, 2026.
Rockstar’s current GTA VI website and support information list those two console families, while PC is noticeably absent.
That means PC players should not expect to be playing GTA 6 on PC on November 19, 2026, unless Rockstar makes a significant new announcement before launch.
There is currently no official GTA 6 PC release date.
GTA 6 is also not currently announced for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Is GTA 6 Coming to PC Eventually?
This is where things become less certain.
Rockstar hasn’t confirmed a PC edition of GTA 6, so it would be misleading to say that a PC version is guaranteed.
Nevertheless, Rockstar’s previous release history provides a strong reason for PC players to remain interested.
Grand Theft Auto V originally launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. The PC edition eventually arrived in April 2015.
Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern. It launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018 before reaching PC in November 2019.
Neither example proves that GTA 6 will follow the same schedule.
What they do demonstrate is that Rockstar releasing a PC edition of a major game after its console version would not be unprecedented.
For now, though, the important distinction is between what seems possible and what has actually been announced.
A GTA 6 PC version appears plausible based on Rockstar’s history, but Rockstar has not officially announced one.
When Could GTA 6 Come to PC?
At present, there is no responsible way to give an exact GTA 6 PC release date.
You may encounter websites, YouTube videos and social-media posts predicting particular months or years for GTA 6 on PC.
Those predictions shouldn’t be confused with an official Rockstar announcement.
What we actually know is much simpler:
Console release: November 19, 2026
Confirmed platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
PC release: Not currently announced
Previous Rockstar release patterns can provide context, but they cannot tell us exactly what the company intends to do with GTA 6.
Rockstar could follow a similar strategy to GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2, or it could take a completely different approach.
Until Rockstar confirms its plans, any specific GTA 6 PC release date remains speculation.
Why Could the GTA 6 PC Version Arrive Later?
Rockstar hasn’t announced why GTA 6 isn’t currently listed for PC, so we shouldn’t pretend to know the company’s reasoning.
However, its previous PC releases show that adapting one of Rockstar’s enormous open-world games to PC can involve additional work.
Unlike a console with relatively standardized hardware, PCs can have an enormous variety of processors, graphics cards, memory configurations, resolutions and other components.
When Rockstar released GTA V on PC, the company highlighted PC-specific features including configurable graphics settings, higher resolutions, higher frame rates and support for different display configurations.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC edition similarly arrived with graphical and technical enhancements.
That history doesn’t tell us exactly what will happen with GTA 6, but it illustrates why a PC edition can be more than simply releasing the console game on another storefront.
If Rockstar does announce GTA 6 for PC, players will understandably expect a version designed to take advantage of PC hardware.
Will GTA 6 Be on Steam?
There is currently no confirmed GTA 6 Steam release.
Because a PC edition itself hasn’t been announced, Rockstar also hasn’t confirmed which PC stores would sell GTA 6.
Steam is an obvious possibility, but calling it confirmed would be premature.
Rockstar has previously sold PC games through several digital storefronts.
When Red Dead Redemption 2 came to PC, for example, Rockstar initially offered pre-purchases through the Rockstar Games Launcher and subsequently made the game available through other retailers, including Steam.
GTA V is also available on PC today.
But GTA 6 could have a different distribution strategy.
Until Rockstar announces the PC edition and provides purchasing information, we won’t know whether GTA 6 will launch on Steam, the Rockstar Games Launcher, the Epic Games Store or some combination of PC storefronts.
Will GTA 6 Have Better Graphics on PC?
Again, Rockstar hasn’t announced a GTA 6 PC version, let alone its graphical features or system requirements.
However, previous Rockstar PC releases provide some useful context.
The PC edition of GTA V included features such as higher resolutions, configurable graphics options and support for higher frame rates.
Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC also introduced a range of graphical and technical enhancements.
If GTA 6 eventually receives a PC version, players will naturally hope for similar benefits.
Potential improvements might include greater graphical customization, support for different resolutions and the ability to take advantage of more powerful hardware.
But these are possibilities, not confirmed GTA 6 features.
Until Rockstar publishes official PC specifications, claims about GTA 6’s PC graphics, frame rates or hardware requirements should be treated cautiously.
What Will the GTA 6 PC System Requirements Be?
No official GTA 6 PC system requirements currently exist because Rockstar hasn’t announced the PC edition.
Any minimum or recommended specifications you see online at the moment are therefore unofficial estimates.
That means we don’t yet know the required:
Processor
Graphics card
RAM
Storage space
Operating system
or other PC hardware requirements.
Given the scale and visual quality Rockstar has demonstrated for GTA 6, it’s reasonable to expect that a future PC version could be demanding.
But buying expensive hardware specifically for GTA 6 based on guessed system requirements probably isn’t sensible yet.
PC players would be better off waiting for Rockstar to publish official specifications.

Should PC Players Buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S Instead?
That depends on how urgently you want to play GTA 6.
If playing GTA 6 from launch day is essential, the only platforms currently confirmed are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That makes a current-generation console the safest option for anyone who wants guaranteed access on November 19, 2026.
However, buying an entire console for one game is a significant expense.
PC players who aren’t in a hurry may prefer to wait and see whether Rockstar announces a PC edition.
The important thing is not to make the decision based on rumours.

What Do We Know About GTA 6 So Far?
While the PC situation remains uncertain, Rockstar has revealed considerably more about GTA 6 itself.
The game returns players to Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida.
At the centre of the story are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, whose lives become intertwined after a score goes wrong and they find themselves caught in a criminal conspiracy.
Rockstar has also revealed several supporting characters and locations, giving us a much clearer picture of the world players will explore.

Can You Pre-Order GTA 6 Yet?
Yes.
GTA 6 pre-orders are now open for the confirmed console versions.
Rockstar offers Standard and Ultimate Editions, with additional content and bonuses depending on the edition and purchase method.
Pre-orders and qualifying purchases also include the Vintage Vice City Pack, while Rockstar has announced additional benefits associated with certain versions.
Digital pre-loading is scheduled to begin on November 12, 2026, one week before the November 19 launch.
However, none of this currently represents a PC pre-order.
If you encounter a website claiming to sell an official GTA 6 PC pre-order, check it extremely carefully because Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC edition.
Should PC Players Wait for GTA 6?
If PC is your preferred gaming platform and you’re happy to wait, there’s no immediate reason to abandon it solely because GTA 6 isn’t currently confirmed for PC.
Rockstar’s previous releases give PC players reason to remain hopeful.
But there is an important difference between hope and confirmation.
We don’t know how long a potential wait could be.
Someone determined to experience GTA 6 on launch day should therefore plan around PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Someone who strongly prefers PC may decide that waiting for further information is the better option.
Ultimately, it comes down to whether playing GTA 6 immediately matters more to you than playing it on your preferred platform.
Could Rockstar Announce GTA 6 for PC After the Console Launch?
Absolutely — but there’s no guarantee that it will.
Rockstar could announce a PC edition before November 2026, shortly after the console launch or considerably later.
The company hasn’t provided a timetable.
Its previous games show that later PC releases are possible, but we shouldn’t use those games to manufacture a GTA 6 release window that Rockstar itself hasn’t announced.
